The twins were born in an unnamed clinic in Dhaka, and moved to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) shortly thereafter. The twins weigh 7 lb 11 oz and are currently without a guardian.
It is not known exactly how old they are, but doctors said they were born in a clinic in Bangladesh’s capital before being taken to the pediatric surgery unit.
The hospital’s deputy director Khaja Abdul Gafursaid said: ‘The kids, with two heads, four hands and two legs, were born in an unknown clinic in Dhaka and were taken to the DMCH on Friday night.
‘Later, their parents fled leaving the twins at the infant ward.’
Professor Shahnoor Islam, who is supervising their treatment, told the Daily Star in Bangladesh: ‘It will be hard to separate such a conjoined twin as they are sharing same abdomen.’
They weigh 7 lb 11 oz and currently have no guardian.
The twins are able to move, urinate and cry, said Nasima Akther Beauty, the nurse who is taking care of them.
Security forces have been deployed at the hospital to avoid any ‘unwanted situation’, doctors said, after people gathered outside the unit to get a glimpse of the babies.
We hope and pray for their well being!
